THE MILK MACHINE
When you are treating malnourished children, having a source of fresh properly treated Milk is essential to their survival. The orphanage at Pena Blanca, Honduras has a cow, but as she ages she gives less and less milk each day, while the orphanage and malnutrition center, need to treat more and more children each month. The alternatives, diluting the little milk you have or buying milk, of questionable age and treatment is neither a good nor an economical solution.
Our approach is to: “Brake the Cycle of Poverty” by “Teaching a man to milk a Cow.”

George pays Jorge
So, "On This Rock" has purchased a young Holstein Milk Cow with her newborn female calf by her side that will supply good wholesome milk to the orphanage and malnutrition center for the next twenty years. She is currently giving over four gallons of milk a day. As her milk production declines her daughters will increase to add to and or compensate for it. At the rate of 4 gallons per day for 365 days a year, for 20 years, that's 29,200 gallons of milk @ approximately $4.00 a gallon, which equals a savings to the orphanage of $116,800.00 over the next 20 years, and all this is multiplied tenfold when you give consideration to the fact that both mother and daughter will also have future offspring.
The Cow and calf are now in the capable hands of "Don" Louis the Livestock manager who takes good care of the livestock at the orphanage.

Help name the new COW & CALF

Mother Cow
Help us name mother cow and her baby calf so "Don Louis and the kids won't have to call them (cow and calf) for the next twenty years. So here is the deal. It costs about a Dollar a day to feed one child for one day at the Orphanage and Malnutrition Center. Your children can help us name (the cow and calf) for a donation of One American Dollar per vote.
Draw a picture of a cow and calf and give them a name. Send it to us along with your $1.00 donation. Don't forget to include your name and address. You can send as many entries as you wish in the same envelope but each must be accompanied by your dollar donation.
Everyone wins because every dollar you send in will be a vote for the name you choose, and every dollar will go to help feed the boys and girls at the orphanage and malnutrition center.
$1.00 dollar = 1 vote & 1 child fed. $2.00 dollars = 2 votes & two children fed.
$5.00 dollars = 5 votes & 5 children fed. $10.00 dollars = 10 votes & 10 children fed.
$15.00 dollars = 15 votes and 15 children fed. $30.00 dollars = 30 votes & 30 children fed.
